Regarding the Husky pencil. In response to a "fan" letter that he wrote to the Husky company, Jones received a personal note from a high company official (maybe the president) and a gross of Husky pencils. Some of the pencils were fancy metal, but Jones, the traditionalist, always preferred the wooden kind.
